This particular Alfa Romeo belongs to that great family of "Tipo 6c" 1500-1900cc, twin-overhead-cam engined vehicles built by Alfa Romeo from 1927 until 1933. Executed in six distinct "Series" with numerous sub-categories, these amazing machines remain some of the most sought-after collectible vehicle every produced.

This particular example was completed as a standard "export" chassis sometime in mid-1929 as a Third Series Turismo. The completed chassis and full running drivetrain was delivered sans coach-work to noted body builder's Jame Young in the UK. A handsome-close-fitting "drop-head" or cabriolet body under "Job order No. 2074" was fitted and the car first registered on February 27, 1930. The car was issued UK registration and fitted with plates "GC 7266" which it proudly wears to this day, more than 75 years after having been issued.

The original registration is typical of the entire nature of this car which is one of extreme originality and careful (meticulous) attention to preservation rather than restoration. It is likely in this day and age that no other, more original example survives anywhere in the world.

Chassis 0412061 passed through the hands of a variety of UK owners surviving the war without issue or problem. An extremely detailed file contains full information and history of this car and a recent mechanical inspection has been performed.

This Alfa Romeo would be an excellent candidate for the Mille Miglia and a variety of other historic touring and sporting events. It would also be a welcome entrant in the popular "survivor" class categories at many of the popular Concours d'Elegance events worldwide.

*Original engine number was 0412061, same as chassis no. Current engine fitted is No. 0412294. This is a correct "Third Series Turismo" engine but one originally fitted to another Third Series Turismo. (Car No. 6c 0412294.)
